Fire Safety Activity Center
One of the highlights of the FMOTs public education initiatives is the Fire Safety Activity Center. Incorporating the learning objectives from the NFPA’s Learn Not to Burn curriculum, the activity center teaches children home and fire safety information and appropriate safety behaviors while they play.
Kids push buttons, lift flaps, and turn knobs to discover over 30 different fire and home safety tips that everyone should know! Children can learn whether matches are tools or toys, practice Stop, Drop and Roll, and perform a home fire drill from a two-story house that’s just their size! Learn about what elements are needed for fires to occur and how a smoke detector can save your family.
Girl Scouts at the FMOT
The FMOT wants to help girls and young women become the leaders they are meant to be! In Girl Scouting,
Discover + Connect + Take Action = Leadership
The FMOT works with girls scouts of all ages, from Daisies to Ambassadors, to create experiences that tie to one or more of the 15 national leadership outcomes, or benefits, categorized under the three keys to leadership.
For more information on the FMOT’s Girl Scout program, email or call the FMOT office at 409.880.3927.
Boy Scouts at the FMOT
Boy Scouting helps builds character, trains boys in the responsibilities of citizenship, and develops personal fitness. Boys and young men develop teamwork and learn to lead as well as follow, which are all essential attributes of great firefighters.
The FMOT works with Boy Scouts of all ages, encouraging boys to live the Cub Scout Motto, “Do Your Best.” For more information on the FMOT’s Boy Scout program, email or call the FMOT office at 409.880.3927.
